In.Verse
In.Verse is a new interactive multi-media music theater work featuring original vocal works that merge improvisation and composition alongside video and theatrical lighting. Members of Moving Star perform a mix of new pieces and improvisations setting a wide range of poetry from the 13th century to the present, including Matsuo Basho, Jellauludin Rumi, Hafiz, William Blake, Mary Oliver, Christina Rossetti, Langston Hughes, Anne Sexton, Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, Chinua Achebe, Billy Collins, and others. Audience members are invited to contribute their own favorite poetry for the musicians’ spontaneous inventions and join the singers in simple acts of vocal support - but they can also simply watch and listen.
